Gear You Can Now Pre-Order Sega’s Genesis Mini 2Featuring more than 50 classic Sega games, the Sega Genesis Mini 2 video game console is scheduled for a late-October release in the U.S.

After the massive success of the NES Classic Edition in 2016 and the Super NES Classic in 2017, the Sega Genesis Mini console got its own release in 2019. The plug-and-play device came preloaded with 42 old-school 16-bit games, including Road Rash II, OutRun 2019, Golden Axe, Sonic and Sonic 2, Tetris, and Altered Beast, and a with a price tag of $79.99. (Though it’s now selling for closer to $200.)
Now there’s going to be a sequel because companies sure do like to make money.
On October 27, the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is scheduled for release in North America and is slated to include 50+ classic Sega and Sega CD titles. The new console is slim — 4.7″ W x 2.8″ H x 4.6″ L — and comes with one six-button controller and all the cables needed to fire it up (the previous model included two wired three-button controllers).
Pre-orders are exclusively on Amazon and will run you upwards of $120 with shipping.
The entire list of games has yet to be released, but a handful we’re down to revisit include Super Hang-On, OutRun, Virtua Racing, Silpheed, After Burner 2, and Sonic CD. Below is a list of the titles that have been revealed:
