Issue 31

Foreword

The motorcycle and the places it takes us.

This is the guiding mantra for Iron & Air. The motorcycle, while a metaphorical binding thread, has always been a conduit to the places it takes us.

Machines are fleeting. The places they take us fill volumes. Issue 031 is a testament to that.

We do some backseat driving on The Gambler 500, uncover the legacy of a vice-crazed heir to the R.J. Reynolds fortune, watch an old Bonnie go from boxes to beautiful, peer into the future with Blade Runner concept artist Syd Mead, explore the history of Hodaka, show off a build by one of our own, and much more…

Enjoy where this one takes you.

Iron & Air celebrates both the journey and the destination. We’re motivated like most who seek more out of life: to leap out of bed (or stumble), embrace risk, and chase after a life worth living. While the machines that move us are the binding thread, it’s the places they take us that create the lasting stories we collect and share with you here. Members get digital access to every back issue and the latest issues as they drop.
