Behold! Man’s ego incarnate. We’ve always had a taste for the absurd here at Iron & Air and the latest from the power-hungry geniuses over at Hennessey Performance is a behemoth that could satiate a dinosaur size appetite. There’s something interesting about vehicles that are too small for the task, or in this case, way too damn big. The 1,012-HP Hennessey Mammoth 1000 6×6 TRX is the essence of overkill and we’d be inclined to ask “why” if the answer “just because” wasn’t so obvious. And you better believe we’d take this overcompensating phallus on wheels for a joyride if we ever got the chance — you know, just because.

The Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator is known for taking top-tier performance vehicles and dialing them up to 11, like their 1000-hp Dodge Demon, the Ford VelociRaptor 6×6, and the 270-mph Hennessy Venom GT. However, the Mammoth 6×6 is the biggest and most powerful six-wheel truck Hennessey has made in 30 years.

Hennessey’s stated purpose is to “make fast cars faster,” and they haven’t deviated from that goal here. The Mammoth 6×6 TRX is a loogie hocked in the face of an auto industry carefully calculating vehicle weights and fuel efficiency. Clocking in at 7 feet tall, 88 inches wide, 23 feet long and just south of 8,000-lbs, the Mammoth 6×6 TRX is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 churning out 1,023 horses, most likely bred in the pits of hell (Hennessy neither confirms nor denies this).

Everything on the Mammoth 6×6 is bigger, badder, and more imposing. Plus, it’s still super-fast, while being a total powerhouse off-road. It’s the undisputed king of the road.

The Mammoth 6×6 is based off of the Dodge Ram TRX platform, but boosted by more than 300 horsepower over the stock TRX and the torque dialed up to 969 lb-ft. The team at Hennessy added a third axle — again, just because — extending the length of the TRX by more than four feet. Both rear axles are locking, with Bilstein suspension and 20” wheels and 37” off-road tires all around. Not that we’d be dropping into any canyons with this thing given the price and all. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that.

“Everything on the Mammoth 6×6 is bigger, badder, and more imposing,” says company founder John Hennessy, “Plus, it’s still super-fast, while being a total powerhouse off-road. It’s the undisputed king of the road.”

Okay John, we’re sold. Now to brass tacks. To secure one of twelve of these beasts Hennessy plans to make each year, you’re going to need to drop around $449,950 (inflation, am I right?). But rest assured, a king-size mattress will likely fit in the bed of the Mammoth 6×6 TRX, so you can sell your money pit of a house and just move into this thing. Call us and we’ll bring a nice gift to the housewarming party. If you’ve got the means, order now before they go extinct.
